HISTORY
________________________________________________

Godcrucifier’s history begins in late 1991, as "Infernal Angel".
A Death/Black/Grind Metal band extremely rough, that released only a demo, “Mega Satanic Holocaust”.

After few months, the monicker is changed into Godcrucifier. A second tape, called “Infernal Demoniac Satanism”, is recorded – it sounds much better than the previous one, but there’s still a lot to work out. Both the tapes were never officially released.

The real Godcrucifier story begins in 1993, when Lorenzo (Vocals) and  Paolo (Guitar) change all the band members and the sound – from Death to Melodic Death/Doom. First the "Promo Tape 1993", and then the demo “Jerusalem” are released (1994): the last one is a stunning tape that spreads the bands name around. Together with Lorenzo & Paolo, are Alessio (Bass), Federico (Drums) and Luca (Guitar).

In 1995 there’s a momentary Crossover period: Paolo and Alessio leave the band, that changes its name into Kind of Unexpected. The demo “Alien Sun” is recorded, but this release has no success, due to a poor promotion. A pause is needed, and it lasts almost two years.

It’s 1997 when Lorenzo calls again Paolo and Luca and gives life to another chapter of the Godcrucifier history: the monicker turns again into Godcrucifier, and they  record the new demo “Intergalactic Christ”, a come back to certain Melodic Death athmospheres with some small Black Metal influences. The originality of this release is the large use of dance/triphop/jungle grooves together with massive melodic keyboards, due to the common passion for electronic music.

Year 1999: Lorenzo begins to work on some new tracks, but, due to the very different style (gothic/electronic/wave), decides to release them with another band, called Syrian.
